THE ARTS SOCIETY SOUTH WEST AREA

Are you interested in art history, art lectures, fine arts, learning new skills, joining an arts society and meeting like minded people of all ages? Then THE ARTS SOCIETY is for you.

The rest of this website will give you some idea of what THE ARTS SOCIETY societies have to offer and how to contact one in your locality.

The ARTS SOCIETY is an organisation that supports a network of over 360 local Societies across the UK plus a number of Societies in the rest of Europe and Australasia. THE ARTS SOCIETY works to advance decorative and fine arts education and appreciation, alongside promoting the preservation of artistic heritage. It is a UK based charity, adhering to the Charity Commission requirements, maintaining good standards of governance and a sound financial structure. The Association supports voluntary projects to maintain the contents of historic buildings and record the artefacts of churches; it also encourages and supports young people to take an interest in the arts. THE ARTS SOCIETY members of all ages enjoy making new friends, the stimulus of learning and the satisfaction of volunteering.

Affiliated membership of The Arts Society is also available for £10 p.a.  See their website -  theartssociety.org/membership-benefits.

Benefits include the quarterly Arts magazine, invitations to members events and courses, special offers and concessions, regular newsletter with updates from The Arts Society and opportunities to volunteer.

Each Member Society of THE ARTS SOCIETY is run by a volunteer committee that manages the Society's affairs. Member societies are grouped into 18 areas throughout the country. Areas are run by teams, headed by an Area Chairman who represents Societies at national level. Each Society of the 25 in the South West Area organises a full programme of lectures, Special Interest Days and visits. Details of society programmes can be found by contacting the individual Society, whose contact details can be found on the Societies page. Details of area events and visits are on the Special Interest Days and the News/Courses pages. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our societies or an Area event in the near future.
